The city is also a beach resort and is on the Gulf of Thailand. One can even explore the many islands found near the gulf, most of which are underdeveloped and unexplored. A rather large gathering of crows too have taken refuge along the beaches and sometimes become a nuisance to their human counterparts.
The Silver Pagoda is another historic site that is a must see to any travellers wandering around Cambodia. This structure houses some amazing pieces of jewellery as well as exquisite statues and carvings, dating back centuries. One of the most significant pieces in this collection is the Emerald Buddha of Cambodia which dates all the way back to the 17th century. Another piece is the life-sized golden Buddha statue that has been studded with 9584 diamonds. The halls are filled with beautiful murals and paintings of all eras. It would be a fascinating visit for all the history and art buffs.
